Catechism & Faith Formation
Faith Formation & Our Mission
The Kraaifontein Catholic Parish is committed to the faith formation of children and young people. We support them as they grow in knowledge, love, and active practice of the Catholic faith.
Catechism Classes & Sacramental Preparation
Catechism classes are offered for children at different faith levels and prepare them for the Sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation.
Classes are held at designated churches within the parish, according to age and level, and are guided by trained and dedicated catechists.
Parents, Families & Practical Information
Parents play an essential role in their children’s faith formation, and families are encouraged to support regular Mass attendance alongside catechism classes.
For enrollment details, schedules, and requirements, please consult the current catechism information or contact the parish office.
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)
RCIA is the process by which adults are introduced to the Catholic faith and prepared to be received into the Church.
This journey is open to:
- Adults who are not baptised
- Baptised Christians seeking full communion with the Catholic Church
- Catholics wishing to complete their Sacraments or deepen their understanding of the faith
RCIA is not a course or a test, but a time of learning, prayer, and discernment, where questions are welcomed and faith is explored in a supportive environment.
If you are curious about the Catholic faith or feel called to explore it further, you are warmly invited to enquire about RCIA.

Parish Outreach & Care
As followers of Christ, we are called to care for one another and to show compassion to those in need.
Parish outreach focuses on supporting parishioners facing difficulties and responding, where possible, to the needs of the wider community. Through acts of encouragement, generosity, and service, we seek to live the Gospel in practical ways.
Parishioners who feel called to assist with outreach or pastoral care are invited to contact the parish office to learn how they can help.

Pilgrimages & Special Events
From time to time, the parish organises pilgrimages, workshops, retreats, and special events that support spiritual growth and strengthen parish fellowship.
Pilgrimages offer opportunities for prayer, reflection, and renewal, while parish events provide occasions for learning, celebration, and community building.
Details of upcoming pilgrimages and special events are shared through parish notices and announcements.
